What is AP Capstone?

AP capstone: It is officially known as the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma Program, a 2-year program developed by the College Board that consists of two courses: AP Seminar and AP Research.
Students who successfully complete the program and obtain scores of 3 or higher on at least four other AP exams receive either an AP Capstone Diploma or an AP Seminar and Research Certificate.

The AP Seminar: It is a foundation course typically taken in 10th or 11th grade. It provides students with the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and prepares them to explore real-world issues such as innovation, sustainability, and technology.
The assessment culminates in two thorough course tasks and a final written exam.

AP Research:  After successfully completing the AP Seminar, students can participate in AP Research, which is not mandatory. In AP Research, students must design, plan, and conduct a year-long, research-based investigation on any AP subject of their choice. The research must culminate in a 5,000-word thesis paper, along with a public presentation. A final score of 3 or higher must be achieved to earn the AP certification.
