In AP Art and Design, students use the skills they acquire in the course to demonstrate their craft and designs. They also develop an inquiry that guides them through the art-making practice, experimentation, processes, ideas, and revision of materials, while demonstrating their work through graphic design, sequential art, photography, collage, printmaking, illustration, industrial design, animation, game design, painting, and fibers.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is HEAVILY prohibited and not permitted at any stage of the creative process, assignments, or tests.
Some skills you will learn and grasp:
Investigating and analyzing the materials, processes, and ideas that artists and designers use in their own work, as well as the work processes behind it.
Practicing and experimenting, revising the way you create your own work, and recording your process.
Communicating your ideas and thoughts openly about works of art and design.
Developing an artistic sense and adopting your own style—or multiple styles—and approaching new ideas and concepts with confidence, as well as working on unfamiliar projects.
There are no specific prerequisites, but having any skill in 2-D art or other types of creative works, including design, will be helpful.
AP music theory is a course to advance and boost the understanding of music and how it works in several ways such as listening to different genres and tones of music, reading musical scores, writing music, and singing.
(O) AP music theory also nourishes the knowledge in skills in music, it also helps in identifying a lot of terms listed below;
Identifying pitch and its levels/features
Identifying intervals
Identifying scales and keys
Identifying chords and rhythm
Identifying meter
(O) It also helps with identifying other musical concepts in performance and also notated music.
The other skills you acquire are singing reported and notated melody, and notating music you hear, and completing music based on cues which is a common practice style.
Important prerequisites is to have the ability to read & write musical notations and a basic voice or instrument performance skills.
What does it focus on?
The music theory course focuses on basic music literacy and its in depth terminology and how to do musical phrasing and it’s composition.
It also tends to focus on music history, chord structures and musical textures, and cadences.
It also has a vocal side that it focuses on, skills that include analytical training and vocal training that is mandatory, and aural development through written aural skills and its components.
